We enable your best to power our future.Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYWe are looking for an experienced and highly skilled L2 Storage and Backup Administrator to take on a senior role within our IT infrastructure team. With 5-7 years of deep technical experience, the successful candidate will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and advanced administration of our enterprise storage and backup solutions. This role requires a subject matter expert who can not only manage daily operations but also lead projects, optimize performance, and serve as a key escalation point for all storage and backup-related issues. You will be instrumental in shaping the strategy for our data protection, disaster recovery, and storage management frameworks.QualificationsROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES● Advanced Infrastructure Management & Architecture:
○ Design, implement, and manage complex storage solutions across SAN (Storage
Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage), and cloud-integrated
environments.
○ Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of storage and backup hardware, including
evaluation, installation, configuration, performance tuning, and decommissioning.
○ Lead projects related to storage migrations, technology refreshes, and
infrastructure upgrades.
○ Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., using PowerShell, Python, or Shell
scripting) to streamline routine tasks, provisioning, and reporting.● Performance Optimization and Capacity Planning:
○ Conduct in-depth performance analysis of the storage and backup infrastructure,
identifying bottlenecks and implementing tuning measures to meet stringent SLAs.
○ Perform proactive capacity planning and forecasting to ensure the infrastructure can
support future business growth.
○ Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture,
configurations, and operational procedures.
● Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery:
○ Architect and manage enterprise-level backup strategies using Veritas NetBackup for
complex environments, including large-scale databases (Oracle, SQL), virtualized
platforms, and NAS filers (NDMP).○ Lead the development, implementation, and regular testing of the company’s disaster
recovery plan for critical systems.
○ Act as the primary technical lead during data restoration and disaster recovery events.
○ Oversee and optimize offsite tape vaulting and replication strategies.
● Tier 2/3 Support and Mentorship:
○ Serve as the primary escalation point for complex storage and backup issues, providing
expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
○ Mentor L1 administrators, providing technical guidance and fostering skill development
within the team.
○ Collaborate with application owners, system administrators, and network engineers to
design and deliver robust and integrated data management solutions.
● Advanced System and Fabric Administration:
○ Perform advanced administration and troubleshooting of multi-vendor storage arrays,
with deep expertise in NetApp AFF Clustered Data ONTAP (cDOT) and Pure Storage.
○ Manage and architect complex SAN Fabrics using Brocade and Cisco switches, including
advanced zoning, fabric security, and performance monitoring.
○ Expert-level management and troubleshooting of multi-protocol environments, including
NFS, CIFS/SMB, FC, and iSCSI.QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in managing Health and Safety requirements
- Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations
- Proven ability to paceset and work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
- Knowledge in Google Applications.
- Build and maintain relationships as you will be working closely with HR and our Antea Group Third Party Vendor.
- Detail oriented – keeping projects, timelines on track to ensure deadlines are met.
- Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
