With a legacy of delivering superior products to diverse industrial sectors.Job Summary:The Assistant Manager – Inspection In Process (IIP) will lead and manage inspection activities across the manufacturing process, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards, process compliance, and continual improvement. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, team leadership, and strategic thinking to enhance product quality, reduce non-conformities, and support cross-functional initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection Leadership: Supervise and optimize in-process inspection activities across all manufacturing stages, including raw materials, wire drawing, welding consumables, and finished goods.
- Quality Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, IATF) and internal quality benchmarks across production lines.
- Process Control: Enforce SOPs, work instructions, and safety protocols across inspection and production teams. Identify process deviations and implement timely corrective actions.
- Team Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of inspectors, driving accountability, skill development, and performance improvement.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues, analyze root causes, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with production and R&D teams.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Manage inspection data, non-conformance reports, and quality metrics. Prepare and present quality dashboards for management review.
- Audit Readiness: Ensure timely documentation and active participation in internal and external quality audits, customer visits, and regulatory inspections.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives focused on defect reduction, process optimization, and cost savings.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, R&D, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance to align quality goals with organizational objectives.
RequirementsRequired Skills & Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Metallurgy/Production; M.Tech preferred.
- 4–6 years in quality control or inspection, preferably in welding/wire/steel industry.
- Proficient in inspection tools and QMS (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Certifications like Six Sigma Green Belt or CQE are a plus.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and team management skills.
